I’m a big fan of drugstore cosmetics. I feel resourceful each time I swipe on my favorite buy, Loreal’s Voluminous Mascara, knowing that I’ve saved $15 bucks or so over my old department store standby, Lancome’s Definicils and still look lash-lovely.
For a while, I was armed with Revlon’s Age Defying Light Makeup with Botafirm SPF 30, a light dewy makeup, somewhere in between a tinted moisturizer and a full coverage foundation. With an SPF of 30, its sweat-proof formula, and a price tag hovering around $10 bucks, it was THE perfect foundation, especially during summertime. Stock up if you can find it, but it looks as though Revlon has either discontinued, reformulated or repackaged it, because it’s nowhere to be found!
Off to the department store I begrudgingly went to pick up an industry favorite and my old go-to, Laura Mercier’s Tinted Moisturizer. Instead, I switched it up and tried the newer formulation, Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer. It was like a light had been turned on from within. I was all aglow. Suddenly, $42 seemed like a steal.
